Frank Lloyd Wright - The Man Who Built America
BBC 4 is a pretty reliable source when it comes to architecture on TV. Their offerings aren’t afraid to 'dive deep' and can often shed a new light of subjects handled before elsewhere.
‘Frank Lloyd Wright: The Man Who Built America’ is one such program. It charts the great American architect's career - one which spanned seven decades and results in more than 500 buildings - while also exploring Wright’s Welsh heritage and how that came to shape his view of the world.
Architect Jonathan Adams is an engaging, passionate presenter, bringing the subject to life and putting a strong case for how Wright’s ‘organic architecture’ is as relevant now as at any time in the past. And, by god, there are some beautiful buildings in it.
